The Shorinji Toraken Ryu Martial Arts

Welcome to the American Kempo-Karate Association website. We have tried to provide as much information about our organization as possible in this website. The following pages provide detailed information about the history, lineage, and founders of this art form. They also provide information on the different types of martial arts that make up the Shorinji Toraken Ryu system of martial arts, such as kempo, karate-do, jujutsu (Jujitsu), and kobudo. Please surf the pages of this site to learn who and what we are about. Feel free to contact us to learn more about the art or the organization. Our News & Events page will inform you when and where our next seminar will take place. This is a good way to meet members of the AKKA family and see first hand the style of martial arts we practice. Thanks for visiting our web site and come back again soon.

The American Kempo-Karate Association (also known as AKKA) is an organization that supports and governs the Shorinji Toraken Ryu system of martial arts. Members of the AKKA organization teach a standardized curriculum that is subject to specific rules, regulations, and disciplines. All members of AKKA are independent and are not a franchise. Each member runs his/her school as they see fit as long as they teach the Toraken Ryu arts according to AKKA's standardizations. AKKA provides on going training to it's instructors through seminars that are held several times through out the year. All students upon enrollment become members of AKKA.
