In Jujutsu,
as in Kempo-Karate, the emphasis is on practical self-defense. It is a
traditional "budo" (or warrior art), utilizing throws, joint
locks, vital point and nerve striking techniques, choking and pinning
methods. Students are taught to break fall as well as how to recover
from being thrown. The art is combat-oriented and is taught in this manner.
There is little or no sport aspect to the style.

Toraken Ryu - Karate Do
There is a
strong influence of karate in the Toraken Ryu arts. Many of our blocks
and kicks come from the traditional Japanese/Okinawa styles. Kempo has a
more circular movement compared to karate's traditional liner movement.
When combined both kempo and karate, will provide the martial artists
with techniques that work in real street survival
situations.
