Dr. Ferencz "Feri" Toth is the Romania Representative for the American Kempo-Karate Association. He met Soke Ray Ferrell at a seminar in Hungary in 2004. He was very impressed with Soke Ferrel's technique and asked to learn more. Soke Ferrell and Dr. Feri have met twice a year since their initial introductions, and subsequently, Dr. Feri tested for and was promoted to 1st Degree Black in Shorinji Toraken Ryu Kempo-Karate on November 23, 2008.
Dr. Feri began his martial arts training by studying judo at the age of seven. By 1983, at the age of fourteen, he was training in Shotokan Karate and later earned a Second Degree Black Belt (Nidan). He is currently a student and 4th degree black belt (Yondan) in jujutsu under Kyoshi Robert Manole (8th dan, European Jujutsu Union). He has also earned a 4th Degree Black Belt (Yondan) in Kurayfat Kempo under Renshi Tamas Lengyel from Budapest.
Dr. Feri is the only person in Europe that has tested for and holds a full Black Belt in Shorinji Toraken Ryu Kempo-Karate. All other Shorinji Toraken Ryu ranks that have been issued in Europe have been cross grades only.
